Self Percept
(Atam Updesh)

Why are you so engrossed in worries? Why are you afraid of some one? Who may kill you? The soul is immortal; it neither dies nor takes birth.

Guru Nanak Dev Ji always emphasized three rules all people should live by and these are:

Naam Japo (recite the name of the Lord at all times);

Kirat Karo (do an honest day's work);

Wand Shako (share your food with those around you).

Guru Nanak Dev Ji taught us that all human beings regardless of skin colour, wealth, caste, and gender are created equal. Free sweets and langar or community lunches are also offered to everyone, irrespective of religious faith.

What is Sewa?
How can I get involved?

Selfless (voluntary Service) – Sewa is selfless service and it is very important in the Sikh World.

Sewadar – a person serving the Guru (Gurdwara) in one form or the other. A Sewadar should be humble, polite, and willing to learn and guide.

Give Inspiration

We are always looking for keen professionals to run seminars, to encourage the youth and children on keys skills and also where Sikhism helps them achieve goals.

Become Volunteer

Cleaning the used utensils in Langar, and shoes of the Sangat in the Gurdwara, are some of the Sewa’s carried out at a Gurdwara. You can always help to clean the Gurdwara including restrooms, cooking Langar and serving it, and maintaining Gurdwara premises.

Its not always about Donations

Sewa can be carried out in various ways, Please contact us and get involved in the community.  Live by the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji

Langer Sewa

What is Langer – where a free meal is served to all the visitors, without distinction of religion, caste, gender, economic status or ethnicity. Langer is prepared multiple times during the day and you can always get involved in helping the preparation of food which is shared to the congregations.  Live by what Guru Nanak Dev Ji created.
